Todat I work for the Albany historical society at teh PA German festival. It's the bigest "Period" if you want to call it that, event in the area. It's supposed to be turn of the century which means we are supposed to dress amish, poly skirts, bonnets adn white t-shirts because that's what outsiders think the amish wear. I won't do it. Last year I did my research and found that Albany was founded in the early 17th century so I wore my mantua, I actually met a woman from Ireland who took my pic because I was the "only one dressed right" This year I am doing Victorian so I am playing more to their game. It's turn of the century. I made a wonderful bustle skirt for an event in Jersey last summer adn it caame out beautifully. And I plan on wearing an over teh top straw hat. No bonnet for me, I hate them.
